The global manufacturing industry is in the midst of a crucial period of change, with 5G technology playing a central role in driving this transformation. Thanks to its high bandwidth, low latency, and ability to connect many devices, 5G is becoming a key force behind the digital evolution of industrial operations. However, traditional networks are struggling to meet the strict performance, security, and reliability requirements of industrial environments. Against this backdrop, Standalone Non-Public Network (SNPN) is emerging as a new solution for the digital and smart transformation of industries.
SNPN: A New Architecture for Standalone Private 5G Networks
As the first Chinese company to present at this forum, Yifan Yu explained how SNPN (Standalone Non-Public Network) represents an innovative approach to 5G private networks. Unlike traditional hybrid networks that integrate public and private elements (PNI-NPN), SNPN offers a fully independent 5G network architecture with dedicated resources. This setup allows businesses to deploy their own infrastructure on-site, ensuring physical isolation and maintaining both network autonomy and security.
Control: SNPN is fully managed by the enterprise, giving businesses greater flexibility and independence.
Security: The physical isolation of SNPN aligns with corporate security protocols, effectively preventing data breaches and unauthorized access.
Agility: SNPN can be deployed quickly, even covering large areas within just 24 hours, significantly reducing the time needed to build a network.
Yifan Yu also highlighted the innovative uses of SNPN in industrial settings. By creating a cloud-edge-device integrated architecture, SNPN brings together global and regional data centers, local edge computing, and on-site equipment into a cohesive system. This integration supports various technologies, including 5G LAN, deterministic communication, and lightweight full-area coverage (RedCap), providing stable, efficient, and flexible connectivity for industrial environments.
AILINK’s Industrial Standalone Private 5G Network: Redefining Industrial Networks and Boosting Automation
As a leader in the field of industrial standalone private 5G networks, AILINK has built a system based on the SNPN architecture that integrates smart collaborative networks and end-to-end performance-enhancing technologies. This system offers a robust industrial-grade network service level agreement (SLA) that supports the seamless digital transformation of manufacturing.
End-to-End Device Management: Allows for minute-by-minute operational management, improving efficiency.
Customized QoS and High Reliability: Provides tailored quality-of-service (QoS) guarantees based on the specific needs of industrial applications, and supports failover reliability for wireless and network devices.
OT/IT Network Collaboration: Enhances automation levels in industrial processes.
AILINK has also demonstrated impressive technical capabilities in making SNPN work seamlessly with open automation platforms. This shows significant progress in China’s industrial 5G technology and sets a new benchmark for the transformation of global industrial networks. Yifan Yu noted that AILINK is gradually integrating SNPN with open automation platforms, starting with manual configurations to enable end-to-end real-time management. The system supports multiple device types, lightweight 5GC, and single-cell networking. Looking ahead, AILINK plans to integrate 5G networks with industrial devices via its enterprise OAM system, further enhancing network-industry collaboration and providing comprehensive monitoring.
By offering a highly customized standalone private 5G network solution, SNPN provides an innovative alternative to traditional public networks, helping industries make strides in automation and digital transformation. AILINK will continue to focus on technological innovation and industry upgrades, offering efficient, stable, and intelligent 5G solutions to customers around the world, and leading the future of industrial internet manufacturing.
The 2025 Hannover Messe took place from March 31 to April 4 at the Hannover Exhibition Center. AILINK’s booth was located in Hall 14, J66. With its deep understanding of the global trends in digital and smart manufacturing, AILINK is working closely with international partners to drive industrial innovation and change.
